Bring killers to justice for pacifying Baloch: Mengal

KARACHI: Baloch nationalist leader Attaullah Mengal while discussing the issues of Balochistan province with leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami said that the only solution to save Balochistan is to bring the culprits involved in the killing of innocent Baloch to justice, adding that the entire nation recognizes the killers.
In a meeting with representatives of the party including JI Sindh chief Asadullah Bhutto, JI Karachi chief Muhammad Hussain Mehanti and others, Attaullah Mengal said that killing of innocent Baloch by agencies is a serious crime, adding that the resulting situation cannot be controlled by any politician of Pakistan.
On this occasion, Asadullah Bhutto said that East Pakistan got separated due to similar circumstances, adding that the entire country is concerned on Balochistan situation.
He said that all issues are resolved through dialogue but our government only knows the use of force to tackle the problems. He said that the point of no return could be avoided if our leaders pay serious attention to the Balochistan issue.
The JI Sindh chief said that his party has always criticized the abuse of power in the province, adding that the party would raise its voice against the injustice.
He said that Balochistan is the only province of Pakistan where anti-country slogans are being heard. He warned that if the issue was not taken seriously irreparable damage would be done to the national security.

Kharotabad killings: Police surgeon shot dead in Quetta

QUETTA: Unidentified armed men in Quetta shot dead police surgeon Dr Baqir Shah on Thursday, FTNews reported.
Dr Baqir Shah, of Bolan Medical Complex, was the key forensic investigator in the Kharotabad incident of May 17 this year in which five foreigners were killed by security personnel.
According to police, Dr Shah was on his way back from the hospital when the armed assailants opened fire on his vehicle on Sabzal Road. He passed away before reaching the hospital.
Dr Shah was earlier also beaten up and injured by unknown assailants. He alleged that he was beaten up by policemen.
“I was punished by police for telling the truth about the killing of five foreigners,” Dr Baqir Shah had told FTNews on telephone.
Dr Baqir Shah had rejected the police’s earlier claim in the Kharotabad incident that the foreigners had attacked them with hand grenades.

Land dispute claimed 14 lives in Gujranwala

GUJRANWALA: Fourteen people, including four children, were killed and three houses were set on fire in Gujranwala on Thursday over a land dispute, FTNews reported.
According to sources, two people were killed by the firing of a rival group on Thursday morning.
Reacting to the incident, the other group attacked three houses of rivals in the Peeliwala area and set them on fire, resulting in the death of twelve people.
The incidents were the result of an old enmity over a land dispute between Jawaid and Saifullah groups.
Police claimed to have arrested two people from the site of incident.
