British ICRC official kidnapped in Quetta

QUETTA: Unidentified gunmen abducted a British national working for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) near Chaman Housing Scheme in Quetta on Thursday. Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Operations Nazir Kurd said that Dr Khalil, a British national who had recently converted to Islam, was on his way to the office when a group of armed men intercepted his vehicle and took him away at gunpoint. Kurd told reporters that a group of armed men were already waiting for the ICRC official near the office in Chaman Housing Scheme and intercepted his vehicle when he was near it. “The abductors left behind the vehicle and spared the driver,” he said. TTP claims killing of 15 abducted FC troops

PESHAWAR: Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) on Thursday claimed to have killed 15 Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel who were kidnapped earlier. “We’ve taken our revenge,” said TTP Spokesperson Ihsanullah Ihsan. District Officer FC Ali Sher Mehsud said that the bodies have been recovered and they are being kept at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Tal. Fifteen FC personnel were abducted by the TTP on December 23 when several militants attacked their fort in Mullazai. The militant outfit’s spokesperson claimed to have killed all of them. TTP commander accused of killing 20, arrested: Additional IG

KARACHI: Karachi Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan’s (TTP) commander Abdul Qayuum and his three companions were arrested along with a suicide jacket, a rocket, a BM missile, two Kalashnikovs and bullets of different types, FTNews reported on Thursday. The Additional IG Crime Investigation Department (CID) said during a press conference that the accused were involved in the killing of 20 people including a police officer. They were arrested while conducting a raid on the upper side of the Karachi, said the additional IG.
