KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah said that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) was enjoying a ‘very good’ political alliance with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) in the larger national interest.
“PPP has always adopted the policy of national reconciliation and it has been proved also by the MQM leadership through a
recent rally in support of democracy,” he said while addressing a press conference at the Chief Minister House on Thursday.
Shah said that his party had no idea about the agenda of the former home minister Zulfiqar Mirza and added that the PPP had announced its disassociation with Mirza.
He further pointed out that Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon had been summoned by President Asif Ali Zardari to clarify his position and his visitto London.
“Whosoever would violate party discipline will have to face the consequences,” the chief minister said.
Shah said that MPA Imdad Pitafi’s membership of the PPP had also been suspended for violating party discipline.
He said that the party leadership was fully determined to foil any machination to destabilise the government.
The present coalition government will complete its full tenure, the chief minister remarked.
