PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan on Friday announced to make his assets public along with details as how he earned the money and how much tax he paid.
Addressing a public gathering after joining of Salim Khan in the party, Imran Khan said he was introducing a new trend in politics of the country of making details of assets public.
“I will make my assets public in a press conference within a week,” said the party chief.
He also stressed upon all the politicians to follow his example because the country cannot be developed unless its people properly document their assets and pay taxes.
The PTI Chief said that if he formed the government, he would never get loan or grants from foreign countries and would try to rely only on local resources.
He said that it had been demanded by PTI leadership that the tickets for electoral contests would be given only to those candidates who had submitted details of their assets to the party.
In response to a question about war on terror, Khan said for the last three years he was pleading for negotiation with Taliban for resolving the problem of militancy.
He said people did not take him seriously and laughed at his idea earlier but were holding talks with the militants themselves.
The Americans have also realised that the militancy cannot be rooted out militarily and there was a need of holding negotiations with the Taliban.
